BIDIBOP is vincent nicolas solo project. Playing music since the age of four, with various instruments such as violin, keyboards, guitar, drums... he launched and merged with many differnet music projects as a musician or as sound enginner, sometimes both. In 1998, he merged the post-rock band "un automne à lob-nor" as samplers and keyboards player, beside sébastien roux (guitars - rabbits|sorrow). Since the band splited, he dedicated to his own music project started in the mean time. Old synths sounds to earlies glitches, guitar and sound treatments, are part of the BIDIBOP's textures glittering music which only aim is pop. ...Vincent Nicolas merely uses field recordings as starting points for sweet trips into a delicious dreamland. His „ACE Train Song“, for example, seems to take a similar route as Roux, but then adds layers of melody and drones to arrive at a gripping piece of new romanticism.

…His field recordings are definitely urban: recorded in Manhattan. He recorded human activity that included music. It\’s a bit hard to tell wether the music is played in those places by Nicolas himself, but for some reason I think it is. Or perhaps he added a bit of sound afterwards. In either case, he plays three pieces of music, which are more compositions by themselves than Roux\’s work. I for myself like this more than Roux, simply because it seems to have more effort put it. Perhaps a bit long these pieces, but certainly quite enjoyable. \’Ace Train Songs\’ even has a nice hook to it!
