contribute to sloppy seconds compilation
submit a second audiowork
While searching my haystack of audiofiles, I stumbled about a folder sloppy seconds. After short searchengine consulting, I've found out, that I contribute these 2 tracks in 2006 to the project sloppy seconds.
The story is short, the label obscuria accepting submissions of one second audiowork, to setup the world biggest CD-Compilation with 4800 artists.
Ideally, my goal would be to fill an 80 minute CD in this way. At 60 artists a minute, that would be 4800 separate submissions, with a track marker every minute.

Forum für Biophonie
Patrick Franke, Initiator der Alulatonserien Konzertreihe / Label in Leipzig und leidenschaftlicher Sammler von Tierlauten, insbesondere Vögel, hat ein Forum speziell zu Biophonie eröffnet.
Dort kann jeder, der sich mit dem Thema Tierlaute beschäftigt, ob künstlerisch oder wissenschaftlich seine Aufnahmen vorstellen oder analysieren lassen. Dieser Artikel ist nur indirekt Werbung. Nebenbei bin ich vom obengenannten Gerät doch recht begeistert und ich glaube es ist genau das, was ich immer gesucht habe. Ein Sampler/Loop gerät, mit welchem ich (relativ) einfach Live Loops erzeugen kann. Das haben PhraseSampler der vergangenen Generation (wie z.B. mein billig ZoomSampleTrak) auch immer versprochen, aber der Umweg die Samples aufzunehmen und zu speichern und vielleicht noch zu editieren war immer grausam umständlich und wenig intuitiv. Anders beim JamMan von DigiTech.

Call a Glacier
field art action for melting glaciers
German Soundartist Kalle Laar launched an interactive telephone sound-installation called Calling the Glacier - Mobile Elegy.
You can call the telephonenumer + 49 89 3791 4058 and you will be connected directly with the Vernagt Glacier (Ötztal, Austrian Alps) and listen to the sound of the melting glacier in real-time.
As Marco of Automatictext wrotes (he directed me to this project), it sounds very raw and noisy - like a waterfall - maybe there are (digital?) artefacts or something else.
The idea behind is very clear, let's say, like the water of a melting glacier...

Alula-ton-serien new website and podcast
„I am for the birds not for the cages“ – John Cage
„ALULA TON SERIEN – initiated by patrick franke in 2004 – is a platform for electro acoustic music and soundart as well as for formats that present and communicate these issues.“ (from alulatonserien.de).
They organize a serie of concerts and release some very well looking editions of CD-Rs, making a Radioshow (that you can catch as podcast) and organize field recording / soundart workshops.
Well, they relaunch their website and you should take some minutes to discover their space.
